Scott Hess Racing Caps Dominant 2026 Season with 11 Wins; Tony Jackson Set to Return in 2027

What began as a season of uncertainty and unexpected changes ultimately turned into one of the most successful campaigns in Scott Hess Racing history, as driver Tony Jackson helped lead the team to 11 victories in just 20 starts during the 2026 season.

Originally slated to compete in only a handful of events, Jackson’s role expanded significantly following the departure of Chase Gutshall early in the season. What was initially expected to be a limited number of appearances quickly evolved into a more substantial schedule, with Jackson and the Hess Racing team making the most of the opportunity.

Despite the early adjustments, the team found its stride in impressive fashion, recording 17 top-five finishes, 19 top-10 finishes, and just one DNF. Jackson visited victory lane in 55 percent of the team’s starts, further solidifying the combination as one of the premier operations in the Sportsman ranks.

“It was a great season,” Jackson said. “I went from not planning to race, and circumstances got me back to racing a limited schedule. It’s hard to race part-time and have the kind of success we did this year.“

Among the season’s biggest highlights was an incredible stretch of nine consecutive victories, including a memorable doubleheader sweep at Williams Grove Speedway. Jackson also delivered a dominant performance in the 100-lap feature, adding another marquee victory to an already remarkable campaign.

For team owner Scott Hess, the results reflected the continued strength of the team’s wingless program, while also providing optimism for improvements on the winged side.

“Our wingless package has been very good over the last few years, so nothing is changing there,” Hess said.  “Our wing package has been off the past two years, but I’d like to thank Troy at Godfrey Engines. We had him update one of our wing motors, and he nailed it.“

With progress already being made, Hess plans to continue strengthening the team’s winged program during the offseason.

“Our goal is to update another engine over the winter, and we should be ready for the 2027 season,” Hess added.

Looking ahead, Jackson will return behind the wheel for Scott Hess Racing in 2027, with the team planning another limited schedule similar to its 2026 campaign. While the overall number of events is expected to remain relatively unchanged, Hess indicated that a few additional winged races could be added to the schedule.

“Next year looks to be part-time again for me, and I’m excited to get my son going in the 500 micro midgets,” Jackson added.

Off the track, Hess also expressed his appreciation for the sponsors and supporters who continue to make the team’s success possible.

“Big thanks to all the sponsors,” Hess said. “It looks like every one of them is coming back in 2027.”

What began as an unexpected change of plans ultimately became a season to remember for Scott Hess Racing. With 11 victories, remarkable consistency, and a proven combination returning, the team heads into the offseason with momentum and optimism for another successful campaign.

For Hess, Jackson, and the entire team, the goal remains the same in 2027: build on their success and continue competing for victories.
