With only a few races under his belt in 2026, Meade Hahn looked to rebound from mechanical issues in the last show he ran in April. The team had a few weeks to make adjustments and get everything fixed up and ready to compete again.
The 7 car would hit the track for the first time on the 14th at Selinsgrove Speedway, as the limited late model division competed alongside the World of Outlaws Late Models. Hahn would roll off 5th in his heat and would make some passes to get up to 4th before he had “a small driver error that cost us a spot and finished 5th.” That would, however, be good enough to lock the car into the feature.
“In the feature, we started 14th, and we were running well, but we decided to use a harder tire on the right rear because the tire we wanted to run wouldn’t hold air, so we had to go with what we had.” Even with this slight adversity, Meade was able to pull off an 11th-place run while battling a push. Bringing the car home in one piece and being able to move forward was a great result of the team.
While the team planned to run at Port Royal the following weekend, Mother Nature had other ideas. With the rain out, the team would get an extra week to prepare. “After finding some things wrong with the car during the week, we got the car fixed and hoped that we had found some of our issues from the last time we raced.” A few other adjustments to the car presented a new challenge for the veteran racer, as some of the changes were different than what the team would usually try.
Closing out the month at Selinsgrove, Hahn would get to test out those adjustments. In his heat, Meade would start 3rd and manage a 4th place effort. Although he would lose a spot, Meade felt that the car “had decent speed and the things we found wrong really helped the car.” The invert put the 7 car on the front row in 2nd for the feature. With track conditions looking pretty locked down in the rubber for the feature, starting on the outside was less than ideal. Falling back slightly at the start to 5th, Hahn encountered some trouble “when the 6th place car made hard contact with the left rear going into turn 3, which sent me almost spinning out up the track.” That would cost the 7, a few more spots, and drop him back to 8th. Hahn was able to lock back in and maintain that position.
“Not a bad night, but could have been better,” said Hahn. Even with the misfortune in the feature, “the changes we made, made the car way better, but maybe needed just a touch more to be as fast as the leaders.”
The team will get everything fixed after the damage sustained in the last race and be back on track later this week to kick off the month of June. Meade will head back to Selinsgrove on multiple occasions to try to produce a better result than the last time out. The team plans to race at the Snyder County track on June 5th, 12th, and 19th. The 7 car is also tentatively scheduled to go to the Port Royal Speedway on June 13th. As long as Mother Nature cooperates in June, the team should get to compete more and continue to learn what the car wants.
