Berry Forced to End Super Late Model Season After Back to Back Weeks With Engine Issues

Team Will Enter Limited Late Model Division at the Butch Renninger Memorial

Port Royal, PA – August 31, 2023

Austin Berry knew making the Lucas Oil Late Model Series Rumble by the River finale at his home track, Port Royal Speedway, would be challenging, especially given he was down on horsepower with his number two engine under the hood.

Racers don’t sit at home though.  They give it their all and work to find a way.

Maybe with the tough luck he has had this season he was due for a break and things would go his way.  You don’t know until you try.

DATE:  August 25, 2023

  • Event:  Rumble By the River Prelim
  • Track:  Port Royal Speedway
  • City, State:   Port Royal, PA
  • Quick Stats:  52 cars, Qualifying 22nd, Heat 8th (8), A-main 14th (22)

Momentary Optimism

A large, quality field of 52 super late model teams signed in to compete on the preliminary night of the two day Rumble by the River Lucas Oil Late Model event at Port Royal Speedway on Friday, August 25th.

Berry’s night started off with a good pill draw which put him 3rd in the qualifying order.  Traditionally an early qualifying opportunity provides the best track conditions.  Unfortunately, the combination of a horsepower shortage and a missed setup landed Berry 22nd of the 26 cars in his group.

The Tire Mart Tire Pros of Harrisburg, Juniata Veterinary Clinic, Berry’s Siding & Seamless Gutter, SRI Performance / Stock Car Steel & Aluminum, VP Racing Fuels, JDS Racing, Locust Hill Custom Butcher Shop, Nathan Berry Beef Farm, Addicted2DirtPR.com, GO Lithium, Valvoline Pro-V Racing, Super Clean, Rocket Chassis, Austin Berry Racing No.86 lined up 8th for the heat race but couldn’t gain any track position and finished in the same spot.

Berry and the team continued to adjust and try to get better for the 25-lap main event.  Every position gained would improve their position for Saturday’s heat races and give them a shot at racing their way into the $50,000 to win finale.

Berry started 22nd in the A-main.  From the drop of the green he went right to work chipping his way forward and by lap seventeen he had moved into 14th.  The progress stalled there but it was a solid effort to recover from a poor qualifying run.

The sense of at least some relief was short-lived.  As Berry flashed under the checkered flag, his engine expired with a show of flames.

Instead of starting 5th in his heat race Saturday night, Berry was greeting fans and selling merchandise while his wounded race car sat 10 minutes away in his team’s race shop.

Up Next

With both of the team’s super late model engines sidelined, Berry will get an early start on his off-season work and 2024 preparation.  The team shared that they will make a change to their engine program by aligning with a different engine builder going forward.

Those conversations had already started prior to this weekend.”, Berry shared.

However, that doesn’t mean Berry will be sitting at home!  The team has secured a limited late model motor to compete in that division at this Saturday’s Butch Renninger Memorial at Port Royal Speedway.

News Coming Soon on PanCan Raffle Items and 2024 Season Kickoff Party Tickets

With the season coming to a close, Berry will be raffling off the team’s tail banner that has been used all season to cover the rear suspension of the car, plus his special edition Pancreatic Cancer Awareness racing gloves.  Details will be coming soon on how to enter.  All proceeds will go to charity.

In January, Austin Berry Racing will host their annual season kickoff party which features great food, prizes and a live band.  The popular event sold out last year with just over 300 fans attending.  It was a fun event for all who attended and a big success for the team.  Stay tuned for more information about that event in the coming months.

Hartlaub Earns 410 Sprint Top Ten, Three Top Fives in 358 Competition Over Two Week Span

Grove, Lincoln 358 Sprint Dates on the Agenda This Weekend

Kody Hartlaub has been a busy guy in 2023.  The year started with the construction of a new race shop and the birth of his first child.

Hartlaub built his team’s depth to enable them to compete at both Williams Grove and Lincoln on a weekly basis when the 358 sprint cars are on the card.

Then, with the help of partner Pat Brewer and Brewer Home Improvements, he decided to start building his 410 sprint car program and has hit the track six times with that car already.

In 2023, Hartlaub entered 24 total races.  He has already competed in that many to date in 2023 and he has at least six more on his schedule.

358 News

In the span of just over 24 hours August 18th and 19th, Hartlaub logged three 358 sprint car features, two at Williams Grove on Friday night and one at Lincoln on Saturday night.  He finished 5th, 2nd and 10th respectively in the J Fuels, Brewer Home Improvements, Moose Blocks, Smith Titanium, SRR Engines, Siegel Racing, T&N Solutions, Inch & Co. Real Estate, Bigham Appraisals, Pretzel Boy, HAAS Shocks, Chop Designs, Herr Electric, Hartlaub’s Furniture, Kody Hartlaub Racing No.95.

While the main events were certainly not a walk in the park, Hartlaub did the heavy lifting during the heat races that weekend, passing six cars at The Grove and four at Lincoln during qualifying.

Hartlaub was just as good at Lincoln the following weekend, August 26th.  He won his heat race and drove from 8th to 3rd in the A-main that night.

“We’ve been really consistent all year.  That’s a credit to Pat (Brewer), my dad and all my guys who put it a lot of hours by my side to make sure everything is well maintained and we are as prepared as we can be.  I can’t thank them enough.“, Hartlaub said.

Hartlaub has compiled some impressive statistics at the wheel of his 358 sprint car in 2023.  Along with the two wins at Lincoln Speedway, his average finishing position is 5.8 over eleven races.  Just up the road at Williams Grove Speedway, Hartlaub owns an average finish of 3.5 over six races.

It will come as no surprise those stats have put Hartlaub atop the season championship point standings at both tracks.

Hartlaub leads Derek Locke by 70 points at Williams Grove and Logan Rumsey by 120 points at Lincoln Speedway.  Both tracks have 3 races remaining for the 358 sprint cars this season.

410 News

Hartlaub closed out the month of August with his sixth 410 sprint car race of the season.  He was part of a 23-car field signed in at BAPS Motor Speedway for the Capitol Renegade Clash on Sunday evening.

The night got off to a solid start for Hartlaub with the 4th quickest lap in his group, which put him on the pole for his heat race.  It was in the heat race that he turned some heads.  Hartlaub led the first seven laps before giving up the lead and settling for a runner-up finish.

In the 30-lap A-main Hartlaub initially slipped back to 10th from his 8th starting spot but he was able to find his rhythm and move into 6th by lap three.  He kept a firm hold on the spot for the duration of the event, notching his 2nd top ten in six 410 sprint car races.

Up Next

Hartlaub will focus on his 358 sprint car this weekend with two nights at the track in central Pennsylvania.

Friday night he will go after his first career win at the legendary Williams Grove Speedway.

Saturday night he will get back to victory lane for the first time since May at Lincoln Speedway.  While Hartlaub has been very good there all summer (with an average finish of 5.8), the handicapping system adds an extra challenge to get to the front in a 20-lap feature.  Hartlaub has two podium finishes in his last three trips to the Pigeon Hills oval, so a return to victory lane may not be far away.

Season Stats: 358 Division

18 races, 2 wins, 11 top 5’s, 16 top 10’s, 17 top 15’s

Season Stats: 410 Division

6 races, 0 wins, 1 top 5’s, 2 top 10’s, 4 top 15’s

Trivia Question

The answer to last week’s trivia question is Kody Hartlaub got his first go-kart at the age of 8!

Now, on to this week’s question.  If Kody wasn’t driving a race car, what does he say he would probably be doing?

Did you know Kody has a website?  Hint.  You might want to visit KodyHartlaub.com!

Cappetta Has Trying Night at Lincoln

Feels Like Teams Takes One Step Forward and Two Steps Back

Abbottstown, PA – August 30, 2023

by Emily Winslow / Addicted2Dirt PR & Media Mgmt

Ashley and the Cappetta Racing Team had a trying night at Lincoln Speedway for the Kramer Klash.

  • Date:  August 26, 2023
  • Event:  Kramer Klash
  • Track:  Lincoln Speedway
  • City, State:   Abbottstown, PA
  • Quick Stats:  29 cars, Heat 9th [9], A-main DNQ

New Tire Continues to Plague Cappetta and Team

Ashley Cappetta and the Gettysburg Trading Post, Mike’s Towing and Recovery, Yesteryear Antique Center, Stoner’s Auction, O’Brien’s Fuel and Service, Iron Horse Trains, Republican Club of Hanover No. 89 were back in action at Lincoln Speedway on Saturday for the Kramer Klash.

When asked to give an assessment of Saturday night at Lincoln, Ashley’s first response was, “Saturday was no good.” After two solid weekends at the track, Cappetta and the team failed to qualify for the feature for the first time this season, “Knowing we did well the past two weeks, it feels like we take one step forward and then two steps back.” While the new tire compound continues to challenge Ashley and the team, there were other factors in play on Saturday that contributed to the team’s struggles, “Some of it was me overdriving the car and some of it was track conditions. I had no drive off both corners due to wheel spin.” The team was also down a crew member. Some teams are sticking with the older compound but Ashley and the team agree switching back would just be a temporary band-aid until the new tires likely become mandatory next season.

Cappetta Takes Time to Reset After Rough Night

After a rough day, or in this case, a rough night, sometimes the best thing to do is to get away to mentally reset and that is exactly what Ashley did on Sunday, “The best thing that happened to me over the weekend was getting away and going to a concert on Sunday night. It got me away from the car and thinking about Saturday night.” Cappetta spent the night focused on the music with some of the lyrics really hitting home, “It was a good time and a much needed break.”

Teams Face Challenges Every Week That Fans Don’t See

There were quite a few factors in play that affected Cappetta, the car and the team, “On Saturday night fans saw a bad handling car but they don’t understand why or what happened.” During the week Ashley and the team worked in the shop measuring, testing and looking over everything, which is something the fans don’t get to see. The team thought they had found a way to make improvements but when they got to the track, it turns out the team was wrong, or there was more wrong than they thought with the car. It also could have been a bad batch of tires which makes it incredibly difficult for teams to pinpoint what is wrong, especially in the middle of a busy race night.

Stay tuned to Cappetta’s social media accounts, as well as Addicted2DirtPR.com/Events for the most up to date schedule information.

Kyle Reinhardt Fast All Weekend but Comes up Empty

Two Day All Star Attica Ambush Opens Busy Month of September

York Haven, PA – August 30, 2023

Following a debut weekend with two top ten finishes in the Grove Racing No.45, Kyle Reinhardt and crew hit the road to Michigan with the All Star Circuit of Champions, aiming to apply what they had learned on their first weekend together and continue to gel as a team.

By Saturday night there seemed to be no doubt the combination was a good one and that a victory is probably not far away.

Auburn, MI

Reinhardt’s weekend started off strong with the 5th quickest qualifying lap in the 30 car field at Tri City Motor Speedway in Auburn, MI.

The effort earned Reinhardt the pole for the second heat race.  He took command of from the drop of the green and appeared set to take the victory and claim a spot in the dash.  Reinhardt survived the restart following a caution at the halfway mark.

Reinhardt was still in command as the flagman raised the white flag but before the field could be scored, the caution lights flashed on for a second time.  The final restart didn’t go Reinhardt’s way and he fell to a 3rd place finish.

The 30-lap A-main rolled to the green with Reinhardt occupying the 9th starting spot.  As the track slicked off, Reinhardt’s No.45 struggled.  He ended the night in 17th.

Quincy, MI

Reinhardt and his team made the nearly three hour trek southwest through Michigan to Butler Motor Speedway for Saturday night’s All Star Circuit of Champions race.

With a stout field of 37 cars pit side for the $8,500 to win Mace Thomas Classic, Reinhardt ripped off the 2nd fastest lap in his group.  The lap put him on the pole for his heat race and he didn’t let the opportunity slip away.  He led every lap to put the Grove Racing team in the dash.

The redraw put Reinhardt outside row two for the 6-lap race.  At the drop of the green he quickly surged into the runner up spot and set his sights on leader Zeb Wise.  He brought home a 2nd place finish and the front row starting spot in the A-main.

Reinhardt was on point from the start in the 30-lap main event.  He took the top spot on the opening lap and quickly put some distance between himself and 2nd place Zeb Wise.

During the opening laps, Reinhardt ‘biked’ on the turn four cushion, which knocked the right front tire off the rim.

It didn’t slow Reinhardt down.  He stayed in the gas and maintained the top spot for another four laps before losing the lead to Wise just before the steering gear finally gave out from the earlier incident.  A promising night turned into a 21st place finish.

York Haven, PA

With All Star competition finished for the weekend, Reinhardt hustled back to Pennsylvania to prepare his own Capitol Renegade, Coors Banquet Beer, Henry’s Wrecker Service No.91 to compete at BAPS Motor Speedway Sunday evening.

Once again Reinhardt was fast.  He laid down the 2nd quickest lap in his group, then charged to a heat race win from his inside row two starting spot.

Starting 3rd in the 30-lap A-main, Reinhardt quickly claimed the 2nd spot and challenged Danny Dietrich for the lead on lap two.  The Neptune City, NJ native was  strong and was clearly going to be a factor in the race, until he looped the car entering turn three a lap later.  Contact from another car during the spin brought an early end to his night.

Definitely a weekend to forget.“, Reinhardt said.  “Obviously Saturday was kind of out of my control, but Sunday I was just over-driving and got crossed up.”

We will just take the positives that we had a lot of speed in both cars and move on to the next one!

Sponsorship opportunities are available for the 2023 season.

Kyle can be contacted via [email protected].

Up Next

Reinhardt and the Grove Racing No.45 team will tackle a four race Labor Day weekend schedule.

The team will travel to Attica Raceway Park in Ohio with the All Star Circuit of Champions for the two day Attica Ambush on September 1st and 2nd.

Trever Feathers came into the two day Lucas Oil Late Model Series event at Port Royal Speedway with everything going the right direction for his team.

Over the past month their overall performance, average finishing position and consistency had improved.  You can’t ask for much more than that coming into the biggest weekend of the year in the region.

None of that guarantees anything when a field of over fifty of the best super late models in the country is on hand, but it’s a good start.

  • Date:  August 25, 2023
  • Event:  Rumble By the River Prelim
  • Track:  Port Royal Speedway
  • City, State:   Port Royal, PA
  • Quick Stats:  52 cars, Qualifying 17th, Heat 5th (6), A-main 11th (14)

  • Date:  August 26, 2023
  • Event:  Rumble By the River Finale
  • Track:  Port Royal Speedway
  • City, State:   Port Royal, PA
  • Quick Stats:  52 cars, Heat 4th (4), B-main 3rd (1)

No Margin for Error

The Rumble by the River preliminary night featured a split field with each half running a complete show.  The format drew a high quality field of 52 teams to try to position themselves well for Saturday night’s $50,000 to win finale.

Feathers got his shot under the clock in Group B qualifying.  His 17th quickest lap in the group was a disappointing result for the Winchester, VA native who has shown good speed at the big fairgrounds half mile over the past month while finishing no worse than 8th in three outings.

That qualifying run was on me.  I drove into turn one too hard and didn’t get the car rotated like I should have.  Made the same mistake on both laps.“, Feathers shared.

It wasn’t a lot but Feathers helped himself a little by racing from 6th to 5th in his heat race in the McFarland Custom Painting & Wall Coverings, Larry Royston’s Septic Services, Martins Pumping Service, Feathers & Sons Roofing, North River Farm, Leggett Engine Research, Hot Rod Septic Treatment, Team Zero Race Cars, Shane McDowell Racing, Coffelt Graphics, Larry Royston Properties, Larry Royston Equipment, Fox Racing Shox, Bo Feathers Racing, Clem’s Garage, No.20.

Feathers started the 25-lap main event from outside row seven with a goal of driving into the top ten to put himself near the front of a Saturday night heat race lineup.  The opening laps only made that job harder when he wound up slipping back to 17th in the early going.

About ten laps into the race Feathers had found his rhythm and started to reclaim the lost track position.  With ten laps remaining he found himself back where he started, 14th.  The progress continued in the late stages and Feathers took the checkered flag in 11th.

So Close

Feathers took the green for his heat race Saturday from outside the second row.  With the top three finishers transferring into the lucrative finale, he was in good position thanks to his recovery in the closing laps the night before.  Unfortunately, he couldn’t capitalize and wound up finishing 4th.

In the B-main Feathers started 3rd.  With the top two finishers set to claim the final two transfer spots into the A-main, the task at hand was clear.  At the drop of the green, Feathers charged into 2nd and held command of the spot through lap seven when the caution lights flashed on and slowed the field.

Before the caution, Feathers had built up a comfortable cushion but that was erased.  On the ensuing restart, Feathers went low and Greg Satterlee went hard to the cushion and used a charge around the top side to wrestle the runner up spot away.

Satterlee kept Feathers at bay and took the final transfer spot at the checkers.

Only word that sums up our weekend is ‘frustrating’.“, Feathers said.  “One spot short in the heat, one spot short in the B-main.  I had the transfer spot in the heat but my left front tire started going down and I got passed.  We had the transfer spot in the B-main and got passed after a late caution erased a nice cushion.  Not making excuses.  Just needed one of those things to break our way.

The Hoosier tires wear out pretty quick, so we spent a chunk of our funds there.  It would have really helped our situation if we had just made the show.  I guess it just wasn’t meant to be.

Sunday afternoon back at the shop the team discovered a left front shock issue that unknowingly had also been working against them at Port Royal.

Up Next

Feathers will return to Port Royal Speedway for this weekend’s $7,333 to win 20th Annual Butch Renninger Memorial.

Zach Newlin Makes 410 Sprint Car Return at BAPS Motor Speedway

Along With 358 Sprint Duties, More 410 Races Planned Before Year Ends

York Haven, PA – August 29, 2023

by Addicted2Dirt PR & Media Mgmt

Zach Newlin has dabbled in 410 sprint cars over the last few seasons in the seat of a few different cars.  The opportunities came his way after several highly successful seasons at the wheel of his family’s 305 sprint car, follow by a successful debut season when the team moved up to the 358 sprint car division.

With an appetite that now had a taste for 410 sprint car competition, late in 2023 Newlin made the decision to resurrect the familiar 11z, but this time it would have a 410 engine under the hood.

Sunday night the team took the first on-track step in that journey.

QUICK RESULTS

  • Date:  8/27/23
  • Event:  Capitol Renegade Clash
  • Track:  BAPS Motor Speedway
  • City, State:   York Haven, PA
  • Quick Stats:  23 cars, Qualifying 7th in Group 3, Heat 7th (7), A-main 17th (21)

WORKING OUT THE KINKS

Newlin was forced to dive right in Sunday night.  Group time trials set the heat lineups for the 23-car field, so his first laps in the Ron’s RV Sales, Butler Hill Maple Farm, Tuscarora Roofing Co., Dillman Hauling, FIT Transportation, Grove Financial & Associates, Precision Auto Repair Services, Snyders Knob, Christine Booker Realtor, Newlin Bar Service No.11z were on the clock.

After timing 7th quick in group 3, Newlin started and finished 7th in heat three as well.

Newlin took what he learned from those laps, discussed the information with brother Lance Newlin, and the pair made adjustments for the 30-lap finale.  It made a difference.  He was able to climb as high as 16th during the first half of the race and ultimately finished 17th.

It’s good to be back at the track with the family team.  We have been working on building this RPM car all year as finances allowed.  The final piece was the engine.  We didn’t even get a chance to come out and test, so tonight was like a test for us.“, Newlin said.

It took some time to get comfortable tonight but we definitely made a lot of progress by the end of the night.  There are a couple components I want to change before we race again.  Hopefully we can use the rest of this year to shake the car down so we have something solid to start 2024 with.

UP NEXT

Zach will be back in 358 sprint car action in the Mansberger Motorsports No. 21m at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, September 1st looking to continue their climb up the season point standings at the track.  Newlin currently sits 5th on that list.

While Newlin is still considering possibly racing at Port Royal Speedway on Saturday night September 2nd, his next 410 sprint car race will likely be Port Royal Speedway’s Labor Day Classic.

Newlin says his tentative 410 sprint car schedule includes the remaining races at BAPS Motor Speedway and possibly a couple other races.

TRIVIA QUESTION

The answer to our last trivia question is Zach won the Hard Charger Award at Port Royal Speedway’s Labor Day Classic in 2020 and repeated the feat in 2021!

Now, on to this week’s question!  In 305 sprint car competition, how many top ten finishes did Zach accumulate over the 2016-2019 seasons?

A.  Between 50-60

B.  Between 65-75

C.  Between 80-90

D.  More than 100

The answer in the next press release!

Keen Rebounds With Top Five Finish One Week After Hard Crash

Two Race Weekend On Tap for Carlisle, PA Driver

Abbottstown, PA – August 29, 2023

by Addicted2Dirt PR & Media Mgmt

Kyle Keen and his team put in some long hours and a lot of hard work over the past week to get back to the track Saturday night at Lincoln Speedway.  They had to build a car from scratch starting with their 2022 frame and concluding with dropping in a borrowed power plant.

Their two night, three feature weekend that kicked off August 18th had not even seen a green flag yet when a part broke and caused Keen to crash hard into the outside guardrail exiting turn four at Williams Grove Speedway as he accelerated to line up for a makeup feature event.

Keen was ok but his car was destroyed in the fluke accident.  After a busy week rebuilding, it was time to put the car to the test and hope for a little better outcome.

  • Date:  August 26, 2023
  • Track:  Lincoln Speedway
  • City, State:   Abbottstown, PA
  • Quick Stats:  30 cars, Heat 3rd (7), A-main 5th (1)

Nice Recovery

Keen was among a field of thirty teams signed in to do battle Saturday night at Lincoln Speedway in Pennsylvania.

For the fifth consecutive time at the Abbottstown oval, Keen had to start outside the top three rows in his heat race.  This time he occupied the 7th spot when the green flag waived.  He made his move early, surging into 5th on the opening lap.

Keen continued the heat race charge, reaching 3rd on lap three in his Fine Line Auto Body, Keen Parts/CorvetteParts.net, Doubling Gap Ranch, Shetron, Auction & Equipment, LLC., Wicked Dog Grille, Heishman Racing Fuels, Wicked Cushion, DL Lehman Construction, Gearhead Coffee, Jeremy Zarfos Photography, Coyle’s Lawn Maintenance, 2B Wrapped, 4 Leaf Clover Farms, Turn 2 Terribles Podcast & Media, Kyle Keen Motorsports No.17.

Keen finished 3rd, locking himself into the handicap.  The effort paid off by handing him the pole position for the 20-lap feature.  He led the first two circuits before slipping to 3rd.

Keen’s setup was off a little for the slick surface but he continued to manage it the best he could, holding down the 4th spot at the halfway point of the race.  In the closing stages he dropped one more spot but was able to hang on and bring home a 5th place finish.

“I’m pretty happy with a top five after last weekend’s crash.  This was a different frame, brake system and motor.  A good night for us.  We had some really good speed.  It’s something we can build on.“, Keen said.  “Huge thank you to Jake Raudabaugh of Fine Line Auto Body for allowing us to borrow his Don Ott Racing Engines power plant for this weekend.

It was nice to have a good run with our friend and sponsor, Tom Keen of Keen Parts, with us for the evening.  Glad we got him a little dirty for once.“, Keen said with a grin.

We truly appreciate everyone’s support.  Hopefully we can start knocking down these top fives more consistently.

Up Next

Kyle and the team will look to build some momentum from their top five finish when they head to Williams Grove Speedway Friday, September 1st and Lincoln Speedway the following night.

Season Stats

Trivia Question

The answer to the last trivia question is Kyle Keen’s favorite restaurant is Evergrain Brewing Company in Camp Hill, PA!

Now, on to this week’s question.  What two sports did Kyle play in high school?

Cappetta Scores First Top 10 of the Season

Team Puts Together Solid Night in the Pigeon Hills

Abbottstown, PA – August 24, 2023

by Emily Winslow / Addicted2Dirt PR & Media Mgmt

Ashley and the Cappetta Racing Team put together a solid night that ended with a top 10 finish for the first time this season at the Barry Skelly Memorial.

  • Date:  August 19, 2023
  • Event:  Barry Skelly Memorial
  • Track:  Lincoln Speedway
  • City, State:   Abbottstown, PA
  • Quick Stats:  25 cars, Heat 4th [6], A-main 8th [8]

Cappetta Finishes Eighth; Best Finish of the Season

Ashley Cappetta and the Gettysburg Trading Post, Mike’s Towing and Recovery, Yesteryear Antique Center, Stoner’s Auction, O’Brien’s Fuel and Service, Iron Horse Trains, Republican Club of Hanover No. 89 were back in action at Lincoln Speedway on Saturday for the Barry Skelly Memorial.

Cappetta’s night started with a pill draw of 43 which usually would not be a great way to kick things off, but the number 43 holds a special place in Ashley’s heart, and she did not allow herself to be defeated as the number 43 kept appearing to her and her crew throughout the night. Cappetta lined up sixth for her heat race and drove her way up to fourth putting her in a redraw spot. Ashley drew the 8 for the start of the 25-lap Summer Series feature. Cappetta got up to fifth early in the race, “The track in the beginning was good and then I felt like I just protected my position for the second half of the race.” After running fifth for a few laps, Cappetta got passed and sent back to sixth where she would run until a caution on lap 16, the cautions hurt us.” Ashley would finish where she started in eighth, for her first top 10 and best finish of the season.

New Tires Continue to Challenge Cappetta

Despite a solid finish, the new Hoosier tires continue to throw a curve ball at Cappetta and the team, “The tires faded, and I wasn’t as comfortable at the end of the race.” In addition to the tires at the end of the race, Cappetta has been fighting a shoulder injury, “Those extra five laps hurt because of my shoulder, but I’m happy to be able to finish where we did.” Ashley said that the new tires aren’t as noticeable in the shorter heat races, but when it comes to the feature, there is definitely a difference, “We need to figure out the extra adjustments to make me comfortable through the entire night and feature.” Each week the team is learning something new when it comes to the tires. It is worth noting that this tire change came just as teams were finally getting comfortable with the new wing.

Cappetta Plugging Away at Weldon Sterner Memorial

Things are starting to fall into place for the Weldon Sterner Memorial at Lincoln Speedway on October 14 and Ashley has been hard at work behind the scenes. Sponsors are still rolling in and Ashley and Pat Sterner are still looking for a few more partners to put together the vision they have for the 20th anniversary of the race, “We have some exciting things planned for the fans and the racers that we can’t wait to share.”

Stay tuned to Cappetta’s social media accounts, as well as Addicted2DirtPR.com/Events for the most up to date schedule information.

Reinhardt Debuts in Grove Racing 45 With Pair of All Star Top Tens

Michigan All Star Double On Tap This Weekend

Selinsgrove, PA – August 23, 2023

by Addicted2Dirt PR & Media Mgmt

For the second time in the past month, opportunity knocked for Kyle Reinhardt.  In July it was a chance to run the Indy Race Parts No.71 in the High Limit Series race at Grandview Speedway, this time it was an offer to drive the Grove Racing No.45, recently vacated by Tim Shaffer, for the remainder of the All Star Circuit of Champions 2023 schedule.

Fans will still see Reinhardt behind the wheel of his familiar Capitol Renegade, Coors Banquet, Henry’s Wrecker Service No.91 a handful of times this year when the All Stars are not racing, but for now it was time to seize the opportunity and rejoin the traveling series he had logged many miles and races with in 2021 and 2022 when he toured full time with the series.

  • Info:  Grove Racing No.45 / All Star Circuit of Champions

  • Date:  August 20, 2023
  • Info:  Grove Racing No.45 / All Star Circuit of Champions
  • TrackSelinsgrove Speedway
  • City, State:   Selinsgrove, PA
  • Quick Stats:  24 cars, Qualifying 8th, Heat 2nd (2), Dash 5th (3), A-main 10th (5)

New York Debut

Reinhardt strapped into the Grove Racing No.45 for the first time Friday night August 18th at Outlaw Speedway in Dundee, NY with the All Star Circuit of Champions.

Right out of the gate Reinhardt clicked off the 10th quickest lap overall in qualifying.  The start of the heat race didn’t go his way, costing him some track position but he was able to gather it up, find his rhythm, and bring home a 5th place finish.

The 35-lap A-main was a different story for Reinhardt.  He was able to move forward early and broke into the top ten by lap eight.  He continued to put up consistent laps on the slick surface to close in on the front of the pack.

On lap sixteen Reinhardt took possession of the 9th spot, then moved into 8th six laps later.  He held on to the spot to the checkered flag to complete a solid first night in the car.

Back Home in Pennsylvania

Sunday night the All Stars and the Grove Racing team rolled into familiar Pennsylvania territory for Reinhardt, Selinsgrove Speedway.  The big, fast half-mile track is a place where Reinhardt has a lot of laps and a lot of success, including numerous wins in both 360 and 410 sprint car competition, as well as track championships in both divisions.

Reinhardt looked strong again to start the night, turning in the 8th quickest lap in qualifying, backed up by a runner-up finish in his heat race and a 5th place run in the Dash.

Reinhardt took the green for the 30-lap A-main from the inside of row three and settled into the 6th position in the early going.  He held that spot until just before the halfway mark and despite being off a bit in the late going, still brought home a top ten finish.

I think we got off on the right foot in the 45 car with two top tens. Definitely looking forward to working with Bryan and his guys moving forward.“, Reinhardt commented.

Sponsorship opportunities are available for the 2023 season.

Kyle can be contacted via [email protected].

Up Next

Reinhardt and the Grove Racing No.45 team will travel to Michigan for two All Star Circuit of Champions races on August 25th and 26th.  The series rolls into Tri-City Motor Speedway in Auburn, MI on Friday night and moves to Butler Speedway in Quincy, MI the following night.

The Neptune City, NJ native will hustle back to Pennsylvania to be ready to compete in the Capitol Renegade Clash at BAPS Motor Speedway on Sunday night in the Capitol Renegade, Coors Banquet, Henry’s Wrecker Service No.91 .

Coors Banquet Beer

HISTORY

Coors Banquet beer was first brewed 150 years ago.  It was the original product brewed by Adolph Coors in Colorado when he first established his brewery in 1873.

Over those 150 years, Coors has not compromised their craft.  Since day one Coors Banquet has been brewed only in Golden, Colorado, with Rocky Mountain spring water and Moravian barley.

The company will celebrate their sesquicentennial on September 30th, 2023, with a huge street festival in the town where it all began – Golden, Colorado.  This memorable event will feature a lineup of live musical performances, local artisans, brewery tours, limited-edition merch, and great food and beer.

Austin Berry Suffers Issues Late at Port Royal

Preparing to Take On Lucas Oil Late Model Tour This Weekend

Port Royal, PA – August 22, 2023

Austin Berry has been in the top ten at three other racetracks since his last finish there at Port Royal Speedway.  It’s been a frustrating stretch.  He has logged a podium finish at Clinton County, a 9th at Selinsgrove and a 10th at Hagerstown since his 5th place run at The Speed Palace in early June.

On the bright side, it hasn’t been a result of major issues.  Berry will tell you they just haven’t been very good.  He and the team have been working hard to get the balance back in the car at the Juniata County, PA oval.  They had it earlier this season and they were moving forward each time they hit the track.  Now, they find themselves searching for the right combination.

  • Date:  August 5, 2023
  • Track:  Port Royal Speedway
  • City, State:   Port Royal, PA
  • Quick Stats:  32 cars, Qualifying 16th, Heat 4th (3), A-main 21st (16)

Average Start

Berry kicked off his night with a 16th place qualifying effort aboard The Tire Mart Tire Pros of Harrisburg, Juniata Veterinary Clinic, Berry’s Siding & Seamless Gutter, SRI Performance / Stock Car Steel & Aluminum, VP Racing Fuels, JDS Racing, Locust Hill Custom Butcher Shop, Nathan Berry Beef Farm, Addicted2DirtPR.com, GO Lithium, Valvoline Pro-V Racing, Super Clean, Rocket Chassis, Austin Berry Racing No.86.

With four heat races slated for the 32-car field, every finishing position in the heat races would be worth four starting spots in the feature event.  From his 3rd place starting spot in the fourth heat race, Berry was unable to gain ground and ultimately slipped one spot to a 4th place finish, handing him the 16th starting spot in the main event.  It was a disappointing scenario for the Mifflin, PA driver, who has been working from behind in similar situations most of the season at Port Royal Speedway.

Track Position

The competition is so close these days in super late model competition that track position often makes or breaks your night.  There are a dozen cars or more in the starting lineup at Port Royal every week that can win the race if they are able to earn the right starting spot to give themselves a shot.  Had Berry been able to earn a runner-up finish in his heat, he would have likely started inside the top ten and had a much better chance at a top five finish.  From 16th, he would likely spend half the race working his way into the top ten, then wouldn’t have the tires left to gain more positions.

In the 25-lap A-main,  Berry was mired around 14th for a large part of the race, then climbed into the 13th spot and appeared to be building some forward momentum in for the final ten laps when an engine issue arose bringing an abrupt end to his run.

It has been a trying season for Berry, who didn’t have words for the latest setback he and his team will need to manage.

Up Next

Berry and his team will spend this week swapping engines, going over the entire car and preparing to take on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series at Port Royal Speedway on Friday and Saturday night during the two-day Rumble By the River.

The event features a split field on Friday night with Twin 25-lap $5,000 to win features.  The finale Saturday night will pay the winner a hefty $50,000.  A large field is expected to be in attendance and making the main event on Saturday night will be challenging for any team.

Berry’s full schedule can be found at Addicted2DirtPR.com/events and at AustinBerryRacing.com under Schedule.

Peterson Fluid Systems – Oil & Fuel System Components

Since the founding of Peterson Fluid Systems in 1977, Peterson Fluid Systems has endeavored to produce quality parts that are innovative and dependable. In 1990, the company changed ownership and all that can be said is. . . WOW! A new thrust of enthusiasm and development has propelled Peterson Fluid Systems to the forefront of high-performance automotive parts manufacturers. We built on that enthusiasm and continued to refine our products while introducing exciting new parts. In 2006 we moved into a brand new building and expanded from 12,000 sq. ft. to 33,000 sq. ft. In this new space we are able to continue building our high quality products and develop new exciting products for the future. Peterson Fluid Systems has been transformed from a small company that out-sourced all machine work and fabrication to a company that produces 95% of its products in-house, using state of the art CNC machining, CAD CAM Designing and a full fabrication facility.

All of the employees at Peterson Fluid Systems are aware of the company commitment to quality. This quality must extend from our designs and products to our customer service. The management at Peterson Fluid Systems realizes that each customer has a choice of where to purchase components. We also realize that many companies produce parts similar to those produced by Peterson Fluid Systems. At Peterson, we know that to establish our customers’ confidence and trust in our parts, we must excel in customer service, as well as product design and production. We realize that if a customer asks for next day shipping service, he can expect it. We also know that we should notify him of any problems with delivery of his parts that will not meet with his needs. Being a company that is staffed by people who have raced, we know that service is of utmost importance. The Peterson difference consists of our unending commitment to “Quality Without Compromise”. Quality in product design and production. Quality in customer service and technical support. Quality in every aspect of our business.

Made in the USA

Peterson is committed to producing all of our products in our facility in the USA. It is not the cheapest option, but we feel it is the way to best control quality and also respond to feedback we get from racers about improvements we can make to help them succeed. We are very proud to say our products are made in the USA and believe the quality shows.

Quality Without Compromise

At Peterson Fluid Systems, a team of highly skilled people have been assembled to design, produce, deliver and service our products. After many hours of research and development, many new and innovative parts have been produced. Also, the re-design and improvement of existing products has resulted in a wide variety of leading edge components in oil and fuel system assemblies. Evidence of the Peterson quality is shown by the fact that Peterson parts have been on winning cars at the Indy 500, Daytona, Charlotte, Michigan, The Brickyard, Talladega, Watkins Glen, World 100, The Knoxville Nationals, The “Historical Big One” Sprint Car Race, and at many Short Tracks across the country. As you can see, Peterson parts are the choice of winners from NASCAR to IndyCar, The World of Outlaws, as well as winners in all other forms of racing.

You might ask, “Will Peterson parts make me win?” We do know that, due to Peterson’s commitment to quality, they probably won’t fail and make you lose.
