Cappetta Scores Top Five Finish at Lincoln’s Fallen Firefighters Night “Guise-Little Memorial”

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Ashley Cappetta put together another strong run on Saturday, May 17, at Lincoln Speedway, earning a top-five finish while piloting the iconic Apple #12 with a special wing dedicated to fallen firefighters.

The event paid tribute to fallen first responders Jerome Guise and Brandon Little, as well as others who have made the ultimate sacrifice. Cappetta, who has deep personal ties to the firefighting community, shared what the evening meant to her.

“I never met Jerome or Brandon, but I know what it means to put your life on the line,” said Cappetta, a former volunteer firefighter. “It was an honor to run this car for them. I always want to do the best I can, not just for their families, but for every hero we’ve lost, and I wanted to make sure I did my part.”

Before the night’s racing program, Cappetta joined fans for the Livingston Lawn Care Party, where she had a chance to connect with new fans and see familiar faces.

On the track, Cappetta made the most of her fifth-place starting spot in the heat race after another competitor dropped out due to mechanical issues. She advanced to third quickly and held her position to earn a solid finish that set her up for a favorable starting spot in the feature.

Despite sustaining damage to the left front and discovering a bent W-link after the race, Cappetta fought through the adversity to bring home another top-five finish in the feature.

“The car felt a little off, but when I moved the wing back, it helped a lot,” Cappetta explained. “We didn’t realize the W-link was bent until we washed the car, so I’m proud of the result considering the circumstances. My crew has been working incredibly hard, and we’re all learning and improving each week.”

Much of Cappetta’s confidence this season stems from a revitalized team dynamic, including a new crew chief who brings both mechanical knowledge and driving experience to the table.

“Having someone who understands how the car feels from a driver’s perspective makes such a difference,” she said. “The communication has been great—we’re constantly reviewing video, breaking things down, and having real conversations about what to try next.”

That growing confidence has Cappetta eyeing additional races beyond Lincoln Speedway. With her second car nearly ready and her schedule opening up following softball coaching duties, she’s targeting potential appearances at Port Royal on July 19 and possibly a trip to Williams Grove.

“We’ve been gelling more each week, and once we have that second car ready, we’ll be able to move around a bit more,” she added. “We’ll probably shake it down with a test session first, just to make sure everything is right.”

For now, Cappetta is focused on staying consistent and continuing to build momentum in the Apple #12—a car that carries special meaning for her.

“Running this scheme permanently is a dream come true. I looked up to Greg [Hodnett] so much, and I know how legendary that 12 car is. I’m not trying to live up to anything—I just want to keep improving and represent it well.”

Looking ahead, Cappetta has her sights set on the Steve Smith Tribute Race on May 31 at Lincoln—a night that holds deep personal significance. Her father was a longtime mechanic for the late Steve Smith Sr., and the Smith family continues to support Cappetta’s team.

“Winning that race would be huge—not just for me, but for my dad and the whole Smith family. Steve didn’t like the spotlight, but he was a hell of a wheelman, and it’s going to be special to honor him in that way.”

Fans can also look forward to new Apple #12 merchandise rolling out soon, and Cappetta expressed heartfelt thanks to those who continue to support her both at the track and through merchandise sales.

“People don’t always realize how much that support helps us keep going,” Cappetta said. “If you can’t sponsor a car, buying a t-shirt is just as appreciated in my book.”

ABOUT  ASHLEY CAPPETTA

Ashley Cappetta is a second-generation racer following her uncle’s footsteps. She started her racing career in 2012. It was her first year piloting her race car but certainly not her first exposure to the sport. She was introduced to racing by her father, who was Steve Smith’s crew chief. Her uncle, Rob Cappetta was also involved in the sport driving his own #89 sprint car and went on to be a gasman for Robert Yates Racing. Ashley is making her own way by being the first female in her family to set center stage as a driver. Ashley has had a couple of years of sprint car experience with various teams, starting out as a crew member doing such simple tasks as scrapping mud to advancing her skills into doing maintenance for her own race car. Ashley showing her success with not only her abilities working on her race car but also by winning a Hard Charger Award in only her first season racing. Ashley feels she has the best of both worlds by not only knowing how to race but by having the knowledge of the mechanics and being able to provide detailed feedback to her team. Her goal is to continue to grow as a racer and work her way up through the sprint car division.

Ross Seeking Consistency, Motor Issues Halt Potential Top Ten Run with High Limit at Grandview

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Bechtelsville, PA – May 22, 2025

by Addicted2Dirt PR & Media Mgmt

If you compiled a list of 410 sprint car teams capable of competing for top five finishes and wins, yet often find themselves falling short despite their potential, it would probably be a long one.

Tyler Ross and the Ross Racing team have to be at or near the top of that list so far in 2025.  The Lincoln University, PA product was coming off arguably his best 410 sprint car campaign in 2024 and was well-positioned for a breakout season.

The stats aren’t bad at all.  A lot of teams would take seven top ten finishes in sixteen races.

For Ross, though, the expectation is top fives, wins, and most of all, consistency.  Those goals are still well within reach.

THERE’S A BRIGHT SIDE

Tuesday night, Ross returned to Grandview Speedway in Bechtelsville, PA, to compete with the High Limit Racing series.  In 2024, he earned a front row starting spot and recorded a top ten finish at the event.

Ross appeared poised to repeat the performance and quickly erase some of his early 2025 frustrations.  He qualified 9th in the stout 30-car field and backed it up with a runner-up finish in his heat race.  He would start the A-main from inside row five.

At the halfway mark of the 35-lap feature, while in a back-and-forth battle for the 10th spot the motor started to sour under the hood of the Ross Racing, Bush Auto Group, Fastrak Express Inc., Stateline Truck and Trailer, Stoltzfus Farm Service/Kubota, Betts Garage No.5.  To prevent further damage, Ross retired from the event.

“That was tough.  We needed a good run to help boost the team’s confidence.  Although we didn’t end up with a good result, we are happy to show the speed we had all night long until we had the engine malfunction.”, Ross shared.

“We are going to focus on the night as a whole and not worry about what the result says. There were a lot of things we did well that we have been struggling with in the past few races.”

DIALING IT IN

In early May, Ross took on the World of Outlaws at Lincoln Speedway.  The team was still shaking down a car they had just put together and had only raced once.  A poor qualifying result put the team behind from the start, and ultimately Ross ended his night in the B-main.

“We were just off all night.  If you don’t qualify well with these guys, it’s hard to climb out of the hole.  The good news is we learned some things about what this car wants.”, Ross said.

Ten days later, Ross bounced back at Lincoln’s Fallen Firefighters race.  He timed well and made the redraw with a 2nd-place finish in his heat race.  Ross started 5th in the finale but missed the setup just a little and ended up 8th.

The following night at BAPS Motor Speedway, Ross failed to transfer through his heat as a result of a self-described “driver error”.  He went on to win the B-main to get in the show.  He managed a 19th-place finish.

“Right now, my guys are really working hard to get me comfortable and confident behind the wheel.  I’ve been off since the wrecks early in the year.  I need to do a better job, and I think we will be right on track.”, Ross shared.

“Last night (at Grandview), we finally felt like we were where we needed to be.  We’re hopeful we can carry that run we had going into the upcoming races.”

Ross and his team are currently weighing their options for the upcoming Memorial Day weekend and expect to announce their plans soon.

Keen Building Foundation for Success with Mark Smith

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Port Royal, PA – May 21, 2025

by Addicted2Dirt PR & Media Mgmt

Kyle Keen’s 2025 racing season has been quite disjointed so far.  There have been welcome interruptions, like the arrival of he and his wife Taylor’s first child in April, and of course, there have been plenty of unwanted disruptions by Mother Nature.

On the somewhat distant heels of one race at Port Royal Speedway in late March and another at BAPS Motor Speedway in mid-April, Keen was finally able to return to the track the past two weekends.

Keen and team made their first ever trip to Tri-City Raceway Park in Franklin, PA on May 9th, then returned to Port Royal Speedway on May 17th.

QUICK RESULTS:

  • Date/Location March 29, 2025 / Port Royal Speedway, Port Royal, PA

  • Date/Location:  April 13, 2025 / BAPS Motor Speedway, York Haven, PA

  • Date/Location:  May 17, 2025 / Port Royal Speedway, Port Royal, PA
  • StatsHeat 5th (4), A-main 22nd (19)

RECENT RECAPS

Keen made his first-ever visit to Tri-City Raceway Park’s half-mile oval on May 9th, and he was forced to jump right into the figurative ‘deep end of the pool’.  There was no hot lap session for sprint cars, so it was right to a heat race for the Carlisle, PA driver.

Following a 5th-place run in the heat, Keen took what he had learned and made adjustments to prepare for the 25-lap A-main.  He raced to a respectable 11th-place finish later that night in his debut.

“Definitely an improvement from where we have been and almost locked in a top 10, but of course we’re still not where we want to be.”, Keen said.

“We started passing cars in the feature, and that’s a step in the right direction for us.  Not having hot laps and jumping right into heat races was a challenge for me at a brand-new race track, but we adjusted for the feature and made gains.  Tri-City (Raceway Park) is a cool place, and I would like to go back sometime. It was a deceptively fast track!”

Given the aforementioned interruptions to his schedule, it has been difficult for Keen to get into a rhythm this season.  His season opener at Port Royal in March ended in the B-main, then two weeks later, he finished 22nd at BAPS Motor Speedway.  Another four weeks went by before the team unloaded at Tri-City Raceway Park.

Saturday night, May 17th, Keen returned to Port Royal Speedway for the first time since his season debut in late March.  This time around the Carlisle, PA driver transferred to the main event through his heat race by logging a 5th place finish.  He officially finished 22nd after retiring from the race with ten laps remaining.

“Tonight was a positive step for us.  We made the show through the heat race and held off some good cars to do it.  The car was really good…really consistent…so I was able to drive in (to the corners) harder than I ever have there before.  A lot of credit for that goes to Mark (Smith).”, Keen commented.

MARK SMITH

As announced back in December, Mark Smith joined Kyle Keen Motorsports as a mentor and crew chief for the 2025 season.  Keen says Smith has already become an asset to himself and the team, helping build a solid foundation for consistent results.

“Mark has been really, really good for me and the team.  He has a positive attitude, patience, and there are no unrealistic expectations.”, Keen shared.

“He keeps working on the car, then tells me to go try it and let him know how it feels.  I don’t feel any unnecessary pressure.  We’re just working together to get better.”

“With Mark handling the car, I’m able to focus on the track, watch where guys are running, and get my plan together for the night as a driver.”

Smith is also serving as a mentor to Keen, who only has five seasons behind the wheel.

“After watching me, Mark will make suggestions like maybe enter higher or arc my corners differently, but he’s letting me figure it out using the options he gives me to consider.  That makes me think as a driver and better prepares me because I get a better understanding of when to use what approach.”

Keen says that as a result of Smith’s involvement, he has a much more consistent car than he has had in the past.

“It’s almost like I’m re-learning how to race because the car is more predictable.  For example, we used to struggle in features, so I was just sort of making laps.  Now, the car is good, and I’m able to truly race.  I’m learning to manage a feature race, not just survive it.”, Keen explained.

LOOKING AHEAD

“It looks like the weather will start to get better, and we can start racing a little more.  We just need more laps.  That’s the only way to get better.”, Keen said.

While the primary plan is to race at Port Royal most weeks, Keen will venture to Lincoln Speedway this Saturday night for the Bob Leiby Memorial rather than take on the High Limit Racing teams and deep field at the Bob Weikert Memorial.  It’s a decision aimed at giving himself and the team the best opportunity to improve.

“We aren’t where we need to be yet to run with High Limit.  We need laps, and our best chance to get the maximum laps is to head to Lincoln this week.”, Keen added.

“We also want to get some track time at Lincoln because there are some big time trial shows there this year that we want to race.”

ABOUT  KYLE KEEN

Kyle has always been addicted to dirt racing, and after watching many sprint car races during the 2018 season, and spending time on the iRacing simulator, decided it was time to re-introduce the Keen Family back into sprint car racing. With no prior racing experience and only about a year of spinning wrenches on his grandfather’s sprints, Kyle resurrected the Keen Motorsports team and started his first season of racing in a 305 sprint car in 2019.

Progress Amidst Challenges: Lattomus Makes Show at BAPS on Heels of Outlaw Debut, Announces New Fan Engagement Initiatives

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

York Haven, PA – May 20, 2025

by Addicted2Dirt PR & Media Mgmt

Photo Credit:  Jeremy Zarfos / WRT Speedwerx

After competing in his first two World of Outlaws events, Preston Lattomus reflects on the invaluable experience gained from racing against some of the best in the sport. The deep fields and competitive environment have provided him with unique learning opportunities that are critical for his development as a driver.

“Getting to race with the Outlaws definitely helps in trying to learn as a driver,” Lattomus remarked. “The biggest takeaway was racing with such a high level of good cars and drivers. Competing with better cars and drivers certainly makes you better as a driver.”

Yet, amid the excitement, Lattomus identifies time trials as an area for improvement.

“Time trials have been my biggest flaw recently. It puts me behind early in the night, and it’s something that needs to improve for me to get better,” he acknowledged.

Lattomus is focused on gaining more opportunities to qualify, stating, “The main thing I can do is to get more laps and learn to put together two solid laps that can set me up for a good night.”

Outside the cockpit, Lattomus is learning from his fellow competitors.

“I always try to learn from the guys who are fast and getting good results. Whether watching them off the track or following them on it, taking mental notes is important for making myself better.”, Lattomus shared.

Making the A-main at BAPS Motor Speedway Sunday night provided a confidence boost, as Lattomus secured a spot in the main event against a challenging 39-car field.

“Making the feature definitely helps all around. Getting 30 good laps makes me more confident, as I get to learn more.”, Lattomus shared while reflecting on the night.

As he looks forward to upcoming races at Williams Grove and Lincoln Speedway, Lattomus is eagerly anticipating the growth and learning opportunities that await.

“Next weekend is a great opportunity to make good laps and have a good run or two. With a bigger race in town taking most high-quality guys out of the equation, it presents a good week of learning and growing as a driver in Central PA,” he concluded.

Lattomus continues to embrace each experience, both on and off the track, as stepping stones in his promising future behind the wheel.

Tony Jackson Hits 50 Career Wins with Emotional Triumph at Path Valley; Adds Runner-Up Finish at Bedford

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Spring Run, PA – May 19, 2025

When Tony Jackson announced late last season that 2025 would be his final year behind the wheel, he set two clear goals: to have fun and to win races—most importantly, to reach the 50-win milestone in Sportsman competition. This past Saturday night at Path Valley Speedway Park, Jackson checked off that historic box in spectacular fashion, earning his fourth win of the season and the 50th of his illustrious Sportsman career.

“I got my first sportsman win at Path Valley and my 50th win there too, so that’s a pretty cool deal,” said Jackson. “We had a goal to get to 50 at the beginning of the season, and now it’s time to see how many more we can get.”

Jackson’s weekend kicked off at Path Valley, where he advanced three positions in a heat race, going from fifth to second. As a result of a favorable redraw, he then secured the pole for the A-main. From there, the Scott Hess Racing No. 88 was untouchable. Jackson led all 20 laps in front of a strong field of 20 wingless Sportsman, sealing the coveted career milestone with a dominant performance.

“When the cards work out, they work out,” he said. “The way the redraw worked from the heats, we ended up on the pole, and when you get a chance to start up front with a fast racecar, you’ve got to take advantage of the opportunity.”

The celebration didn’t stop there. Jackson followed up the emotional win with another strong outing Sunday night at Bedford Speedway. After winning his heat race, he started the A-main in fourth with high hopes of back-to-back victories. Ultimately, he brought the car home second—a result that, while just shy of the top step, was still a proud moment on a night that featured the World of Outlaws Late Model Series and a packed crowd of new fans.

“It was disappointing to finish in second, but it was just a cool experience being part of a show like that,” he said. “We started fourth and got to second pretty early in the race, but once the track took rubber on the bottom, we couldn’t really pass. We just needed to get to the front faster.”

Next up, Jackson and Scott Hess Racing return to action with a Memorial Day weekend tripleheader. First on the docket will be a trip to Williams Grove Speedway on Friday for a makeup wingless sportsman show, and then the No. 88 will take on Winged Sportsman action at BAPS Motor Speedway on Saturday. Jackson will pull double-duty at BAPS as he’ll be competing for Mike Callahan as well with the 358-winged sprint cars. He’ll close out the weekend in Wingless competition Sunday at Port Royal Speedway. With momentum along for the ride, Jackson is eager to keep the good times rolling.

“We’ve got a really busy weekend, so this will really be a test for us,” said Jackson. “When you’re rolling good, you’ve got to strike while the iron is hot. Our guys really like to go racing, and I’m looking forward to hopefully another great weekend at the track.”

Tony Jackson Scores First Winged Victory of 2025 at BAPS Motor Speedway, Adds Top-10 in USAC East Coast Action

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

York Haven, PA – May 12, 2025

by Justin Snyder / Addicted2Dirt PR & Media Mgmt

Tony Jackson and Scott Hess Racing returned to Victory Lane in impressive fashion this past Saturday, as Jackson powered the No. 88 to his third win of the season—and his first in Winged Sportsman competition—at BAPS Motor Speedway. The victory further cements Jackson as a regular contender for checkered flags in 2025.

Jackson kicked off the night by advancing one position in a heat race to score the victory, and as a result, he earned the pole position for the night’s A-main. He fell back to second on the opening circuit before retaking the lead on lap nine. Despite the best efforts of his competitors, he went unchallenged for the remainder of the 25-lap feature event to score his 49th career victory in the division.

“We’ve run only a few winged races up this point, and honestly, our motor program is a little more dialed in for wingless racing,” said Jackson. “So, we’ve had to make some gains on the winged side, and I think we turned a corner there. Anytime you can end up in victory lane is a good night, and I’m happy with the speed we have in the car.”

Jackson also took on double-duty Saturday night, competing in USAC East Coast Sprint Car action aboard Mike Callahan’s No. 340 machine. Despite limited seat time with the series, Jackson delivered an impressive performance, charging from 13th to finish eighth in just his second USAC East Coast start.

“We had a lot of gremlins to deal with throughout the night, trying to get used to the car,” he said. “I wouldn’t say it was an overwhelming success, but we were able to run some laps and get a feel of things and score a top ten. Hopefully, we’ll get a few more cracks at it this season and see if we can’t improve on things more.”

Next up for Jackson and Scott Hess Racing will be a pair of wingless Sportsman events at Path Valley Speedway Park on Saturday and Bedford Speedway on Sunday. With the team’s recent speed and good fortune, Jackson is hoping to keep things rolling and score that elusive 50th career win in the division.

“I’m excited to get back to Path Valley as we’ve only run there once this year, and I think we let one get away there earlier in the season,” said Jackson. “I consider Path kind of as my home track as I got my start running micros there, so it would be a real cool moment to get our 50th win there.”

Tony Jackson Rolls to Another Top-Five Finish at Bedford Speedway

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Bedford, PA – May 5, 2025

by Justin Snyder / Addicted2Dirt PR & Media Mgmt

Image Credit:  Teal Beard / WRT Speedwerx

The consistent roll continues for Tony Jackson and Scott Hess Racing as the No. 88 machine secured a solid fifth-place finish in Winged Sportsman competition this past Friday at Bedford Speedway. The result extends Jackson’s impressive run of consecutive top-five performances across both winged and wingless events.

Racing activities were canceled on Saturday at Path Valley Speedway Park as a result of inclement weather.

“The results will show a top five, but the rain really did a number on the track and made it tough to pass,” said Jackson. “Mother Nature just seems to be messing with us whether we’re racing or not, so we’re just kind of rolling with the punches and making the best of things.”

Jackson kicked off the night by participating in a pre-race radio show sponsored by Middleswarth Potato Chips and a late-afternoon storm briefly delayed the night’s racing schedule. However, once the track was ready, Jackson wasted no time getting down to business.

He finished where he started – fourth – in a heat race and as a result earned the seventh starting position for the A-main. Struggling to make up for difficult track conditions, he was able to persevere forward two spots to take the checkered flag in fifth.

“It was one of those nights where you kind of were at the mercy of where you started and hoping for some help,” he said. “Ultimately, we passed two cars, which was about as good as it got considering all the rain they got, so I guess there’s nothing to hang our heads about.”

With two wins already this season and a string of podiums and top-five finishes, Jackson and the Scott Hess Racing team are riding high with confidence and momentum.

Next up, the team will turn their attention back to winged action with a single night of racing this Saturday at the BAPS Motor Speedway. However, as an added bonus through a combined effort with team owner Mike Callahan, Jackson will pull double duty and compete with the USAC East Coast cars as well.

“I’m a little excited, honestly. We tagged onto the field the other week at Port Royal and ran well lap time-wise with the series when we were running our Sportsman motor,” said Jackson. “We’ll have a little better 358 motor this time out that lines up better with the series, so it should be a lot of fun to see where we can stack up against some good cars. More track time is always better, and I’m confident we’ll be able to really hold our own and compete for a win.”

Adrian Tetreault: From New Hampshire Roots to Southern Soil – A Passion for Racing, Purpose, and Paying It Forward

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Memphis, TN – May 5, 2025

by Emily Winslow / Addicted2Dirt PR & Media Mgmt

For Adrian Tetreault, racing isn’t just a pastime — it’s a calling that’s taken him from the midget racing in New Hampshire to the sprint car circuits of the South. Now piloting a 305 sprint car under the Baker River Racing banner, Tetreault is navigating not only dirt tracks but also a deeply personal mission: to find speed, gain seat time, and ultimately give back to the sport that’s given him so much.

After stepping away from the driver’s seat for a few years, the racing itch returned with force. A night at a midget race back home sparked something. “I said to myself, ‘I need to do this again,’” Tetreault shared. And just like that, the journey resumed — beginning with a midget car in New Hampshire before work brought him south to Memphis, Tennessee, where midget racing opportunities are scarce. “The closest midget race down here is three to four hours away and pays $50 to start. That’s not sustainable,” he explained. “So, I pivoted to 305 sprint cars, which are more common here.”

While still early in his 305 career, Tetreault is already checking off goals. “I’ve only got maybe 100-120 laps in a sprint car, so just getting comfortable in the seat is the biggest focus this year,” he said. “I’ve already gotten a top 10 finish — sure, it was by attrition, but a top 10 is a top 10 in the books.”

Long-term, Tetreault’s vision stretches far beyond personal results. “I’m not in my 20s anymore — I’m in my 50s, and I know I’ve lost some of that edge,” he admitted. “My five-year plan is to get out of the seat and put a deserving young driver — someone who might never otherwise get the opportunity — into the car. I’m not going to sell the ride. I want to offer it to someone who deserves it.”

This philosophy of giving back isn’t just talk. Tetreault and his team are closely involved with the Cars on Main charity car show — the only invitation-only exotic car show in the Mid-South. Proceeds go directly to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. “It’s free to attend, and you’ll see QR codes throughout the show encouraging donations,” he said. “Every single penny goes to St. Jude. If you’ve ever read their mission statement — no child or parent pays a cent — it’s incredibly moving. Supporting them is something we take very seriously.”

In 2025, Baker River Racing plans to run the full schedules of the Southern Sprint Car Association and Renegade Sprint Car Series, with additional starts at Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis and select USCS 360 sprint car events. “We’re mixing in some travel to chase better payouts and stronger fields,” he noted. “Eventually, we’re looking to make the jump to a 360 motor — ideally before the end of this year.”

In terms of support, Tetreault is thankful for a tight-knit group of partners and volunteers who help keep the wheels turning. “John Howard builds our motors, staying within our modest budget — I couldn’t do this without people like the Howard family,” he said. “Most of our sponsors are product-based, and we self-fund the rest, selling T-shirts and spare parts when we can.”

He also plans to expand the team’s digital footprint through a YouTube channel, @BakerRiverRacing. “We’re not the next big thing on YouTube, but we’re putting together short updates and behind-the-scenes clips — just something to help connect with fans and maybe attract a little support.”

Ultimately, Tetreault’s story is one of perseverance, purpose, and passion. “I love this sport. And I want to make sure someone else gets a shot that I didn’t have until I was almost 50,” he said. “We may be small budget, but we’re racing with big goals.”

Follow Adrian’s journey this season through Baker River Racing on social media and YouTube — and be sure to check out the Cars on Main charity event benefiting St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Halligan Searching for Consistency After Up and Down Stretch Through March and April

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Ephrata, PA – May 5, 2025

by Derick Kriner / Addicted2Dirt PR & Media Mgmt

Over the past month and a half, Jeff Halligan and team have experienced some good and some bad. After starting out the first few races of the season at Lincoln Speedway, the team got to get back to several other tracks within the Central PA region, as the race season went into full swing.

With a top five finish at Lincoln Speedway on March 15th, Halligan’s speed continued to show from previous weeks. Consistency also started to show, as this was the second top 10 finish of the season in just three races. Jeff was able to follow up that strong performance with back to back 7th place runs at the Port Royal Speedway, on very different track surfaces. A promising run seemed to be in store for the 45 at the end of March, at the BAPS Motor Speedway, until trouble took the Ephrata racer out of contention while running in the top 5.

As the calendar flipped to a new month, Jeff and team were able to start picking off more consistent top 10 finishes. Even with rain trying to wash out racing plans, seemingly every weekend, the team was able to score two more top 10 runs at Lincoln and BAPS Motor Speedway. The April 13th show at BAPS, was arguably the best run of the season for Halligan. Rolling off from the front row and sliding into the lead at the start of the race, Jeff was able to lead 14 laps before being passed by Danny Dietrich. Halligan then had to battle with the Heffner 27, where he managed to come out ahead, and grab a respectable 2nd place finish.

With double features slated at Williams Grove to make up a feature the following week, issues befell on the 45, as the car experienced trouble coming up to speed and ultimately sidelined the team for both features. More trouble found the it’s way to the car the following night (April 19th) at Port Royal, with Jeff having to retire from the feature race early, while running in the top 10.

The last weekend of the month of April featured an 11th place run at the Port Royal Speedway, with passing at a premium, and an unfortunate 6th place finish in the B Main at BAPS the following night.

“Last couple of weeks we’ve been fighting some gremlins,” stated Halligan.

But hopes are still high. “We will be better moving forward.”

As the team looks to put some of the struggles behind them going into May, Jeff again reiterated the necessity of consistency. “We really just need to stay consistent and string together top 5’s and wins will come.”

While some of the results have not shown it, the team has shown good speed and the ability to compete for strong results and even wins. With over half of the feature results this year, ending up in top 10 finishes, speed has surely not been lacking.

“When we’ve been fast, we’ve been really fast, so looking to get back to that” mentioned Halligan.

With a steadfast sense of confidence, since hopefully figuring out the issues with the car, Jeff seemed eager to get into a busy part of the year, with multiple high-paying shows and traveling series’ making their way into the Keystone state. Competing with both the World of Outlaws and High Limit Racing over the next month, will test the strength of the 45 car.

Upcoming schedule plans will include all three nights of racing action with the World of Outlaws at Lincoln Speedway and Williams Grove Speedway.

After that, a Port Royal tune-up will be on tap prior to a big weekend of racing. The three-day Weikert Memorial at Port Royal Speedway, will follow, with Saturday’s finale paying $75,000 to win. With all of the top-level talent coming into town, finding a way to minimize the issues and find consistency in the car, will hopefully start an upward trend for the team and materialize strong results.

Traveling and Triumphs: New Tracks and a Win Highlight Strong April for Lane Snook

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Port Royal, PA – April 30, 2025

by Derick Kriner / Addicted2Dirt PR & Media Mgmt

Image Credit:  Jeremy Zarfos / WRT Speedwerx

While April showers tend to bring May flowers, and canceled races, April brought a welcomed string of strong results and the chance to travel to new tracks. Lane Snook had only been on track three times through the first month of the season. And after a couple of weeks of rainouts, April would see the young 16-year-old race on seven occasions, at many different facilities. The first race of the month was actually a first-time visit to the Winchester Speedway in Virginia, after a rainy weekend washed out local competition in PA on Saturday, April 12th.

Winchester proved to be a worthwhile trip for the 23 team. “It wasn’t quite what I’ve seen on video,” stated Snook as the track was fast and rough. Rolling off 5th in the feature, Lane was able to pick off a few spots, as passing was at a premium “on a one lane racetrack” and finished 3rd. This was the first new track the team had ventured to since the trip to Eldora Speedway last season. “I wouldn’t mind going down there to try again and hopefully get a better surface to race on.”

The following day, the team headed to Path Valley Speedway. After a heat win and a 4 pill in the redraw, Snook was able to grab yet another podium finish with a 3rd place finish. After the daytime show was done at Path, the team hauled the car over to the BAPS Motor Speedway for an evening show. With a 10th-place starting spot, after going quick time and pulling the invert, Snook was able to drive up to the 2nd position, closing out a busy week of racing.

Selinsgrove was next on the books on the 18th, and the night started off rough. After a lap one crash in his heat, “the crew got the car back together for the feature, and we started 22nd and with a very fast race car, we were able to finish 3rd.” This hard-charging effort proved a lot to not only the competition, but also to Snook himself. Hard work in the shop followed Friday night’s action, as the team worked on the car until 4:30 in the morning, getting it ready for BAPS.

All the hard work was well worth it, come race time on Saturday. “I was able to pick my way through traffic, one at a time, to pick up our second win of the season.” This was the Mifflintown racer’s 6th straight podium finish dating back to March 29th at Port Royal. “There’s been a lot of hard work over the past month, with multiple nights staying up until 4-5 in the morning to race the next day.” The hard work was paying off, as strong results continued to be produced even with some misfortune.

The final weekend of the month started out with a return to the Selinsgrove Speedway. After starting 9th in the A-Main, misfortune struck again. “I was passing for 4th on the rubbered surface and had a car get loose in front of me and I spun to avoid wrecking us both. I was able to rebound for a 12th-place finish.” Even though the result was not what Snook wanted, a rebound with only 5 laps to go in the feature to still gain some positions was welcomed.

Port Royal Speedway closed out a busy month of racing with a Sunday night show alongside the Lucas Oil Late Models. With a strong heat race run from 9th to 2nd, Snook rolled off 6th in the feature. “We tried something a little different and it didn’t work how I’d like it to, but we still managed to finish 6th.”

This would round out the month and leave the young driver with a monthly average finish of 4th and a season average in the limited division of just under 4. “We’ve had a very fast racecar, and I hope results continue to show.” Although the results have been there, Lane still feels that there is an even better side that the team hasn’t seen yet. “We just need to put an entire night together,” stating that results seemed to be very good early and not strong at the end of the night, or the opposite, and sometimes even regardless of how the car feels. Even with this in mind, Snook is still happy with the speed and results of the 23 car. “I think we’ve found where we need to be now, and I believe we will have some very strong runs coming.” Lane and team look to continue into May with strong performances and hopefully a few more triumphs over the competition.

May will start with trips to Selinsgrove and Port Royal on the 2nd and 3rd, respectively. Clinton County and Selinsgrove will be on the card the next weekend, with Hagerstown to follow on the 17th. The limited late models tag team with High Limit Racing, during the Weikert Memorial over Memorial Day weekend. The team plans to round out the month with a repeat of Clinton County and Selinsgrove. Make sure to keep up with the team on Facebook and on the Lane Snook website throughout the season for updates.
